Cruel Gun Story (part of the marvelous Nikkatsu Noir set from Eclipse) is a pitch dark heist caper that builds to crescendos of violence that rival the nonstop mayhem of Dashiell Hammett’s demented, apocalyptic story Nightmare Town.
